Phillips Exeter Academy sophomore David Yang led the American team of students from second place in an international competition in mathematics last month. China in the first place.
Yang tied the fourth best score International Mathematical Olympiad individial, held in Amsterdam.
The participants took four and a half hours, three examinations problem. Examples of questions can be found here: http://www.imo-official.org/problems.aspx.
More than 100 countries attended the event.
